Goph Albitz

Goph Albitz started his career in 1958 as a precision tool maker for the aero space industry in Santa Monica. Seven years of industrial design training gave him an eye for detail and increased his appreciation of the value of fine craftsmanship. He started his career as an artist in the mid sixties when moving to Big Sur California he opened a small shop within the Coast Gallery; he later moved his studio to Carmel where for 21 years he had a successful workshop and retail location. He is the innovator of the multi-stone stacking ring, which requires not only goldsmithing skills but the precise skills of a stone-cutter and lapidary. He recently introduced his SIMPLY COOL collection of rings and bracelets made from oxidized sterling silver, 18K yellow gold and earth's rare gems. Since moving to Bend Oregon in 1997, Goph a true renaissance man, has blossomed into a talented painter and sculptor, designing iron and steel sculptures in water features for some of Bend's most elegant homes.
